Chuma Adam is a 20-year-old multi-disciplined visual artist who was born in Durban and is currently based in Johannesburg. She is currently completing her Fine Arts degree at the University of Witswaterand.
In the “Untitled Titled” series, Adam follows the footsteps of Abstract Expressionists as she perfects her practice in printmaking and painting. Her work explores the complexities of emotions that she has recognized as being misunderstood, grief and sentiment through ambiguous, calligraphic- like figures. “Whenever I look at these pieces, I always discover various elements within the work.
