Born on the 16th of October 1996 in Twatwa Daveyton, South Africa, Muzi Phiri is a self-taught artist whose work reflects the daily story life challenges, positivity, victories and memories.
His works spans on a variety of subject matter especially portraits and figures inspired by women and children which he uses as a reference to portray a message and with the important roles they play in our lives. Using mostly acrylics, oils and charcoal on paper, canvas and any other surface that’s available to work with Muzi Phiri plays around with colour to showcase his artistic skills. Muzi raise conversations and discussions on his paintings at the same time sending across a message of socio- economic challenges faced in the society. The tonal variations imbue a positive, uplifting spirit that facilitate audiences to dig deep within themselves to unlock their true potential to face and tackle different problems head on. In his paintings he aspires hope and faith in the good as well as happiness.
Currently working and getting more inspired at the biggest artist hub in Joburg (the Ellis house), Muzi keeps on perfecting his craft.
